President
|
ANGELA DEMKO began her career in Dental Hygiene in 1993. Upon graduating from Cuyahoga Community College, she became an active member of ADHA. She is a member of the Cleveland Component and has served as alternate delegate, delegate, secretary, vice president-two terms, president as well as several other committees. In 2005, Angie led Cleveland to first place in ODHA'S O-Hy-Pac component challenge. In 2006, she received the Margie A. Pierce, Aspiring Professional Award. In 2007, she received the Patricia V. Griffiths Memorial Award. In 2009, she received The ODHA Service Award. She has served ODHA as an alternate delegate & delegate to ADHA in Orlando, New Orleans, Albuquerque and Washington DC. She has been Vice President for two terms, served on Ad Planning, Finance Committee, and Government Relations Committee. She has been an O-Hy-Pac director for three years as well as a member of The Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies. She currently works in a private general practice in Northfield Center for Dr. William Davidson.

Immediate Past President

JEANNE HUBER is a member of the Dayton component. She is originally from Cleveland and graduated from Magnificat High School in Rocky River. At Ohio State she earned a Certificate of Dental Hygiene and BA in sociology in 1970, AQP in 1989 and Local Anesthetic in 2007. She was licensed and practiced in Texas for five years, and briefly there at a Migrant Clinic. She has worked over 30 years in Dayton, seventeen of them in private periodontal practice. In Dayton she has served as Continuing Ed Chair and is currently Legislative Contact. For ODHA she has served on the Executive Council as Secretary two years, President-elect, and President, participating on the Ad Planning Council, Finance Committee and Government Relations Committee. In 2001 she was fortunate to travel to China with a group of US hygienists for a professional and cultural exchange with Chinese dental professionals. She has participated in three Dental Team Summits and at the 2007 OCOH 2nd Ohio Summit on Access to Dental Care. ODHA awarded her the "Margie A. Pearce Aspiring Professional Award" in 2007. She has greatly enjoyed meeting hygienists across the country at the past eight ADHA Annual Sessions. In 2006 and 2007 Jeanne was an ADHA Alternate Delegate, and in 2008 and 2009 a Delegate. In 2009 she attended the Institute of Medicine's "The U.S. Oral Health Workforce In the Coming Decade: A Workshop" in Washington, DC. She represented Ohio hygienists on the Ohio Director of Health 2009 Taskforce on Oral Health and Access to Dental Care. She continues these efforts with the newly formed and as yet unnamed Access/Action organization recommended by the Taskforce. She currently works in private general practice in Dayton.

Vice President

DEBORAH TENNYSON is a member of the Columbus Component. She began her career in Greenville, South Carolina where she graduated from Greenville Technical College. Deborah has practiced dental hygiene in Virginia and Tennessee prior to moving to Ohio in 2000 and retains her license in each of these states. On a state level she has served as Trustee and ADHA Alternate Delegate. She has also served on Administrative Planning, Finance committee and O-HY-PAC where she is currently serving as O-HY-PAC treasurer. On a component level she has served as delegate, treasurer and president-elect. Deborah is also a member of The Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies. She currently works in a periodontal practice in Worthington.

Secretary

RACHEL HENRY RDH, MS, graduated from The Ohio State University with her BSDH in 2005. She completed her Master’s degree from Ohio State in Allied Medical Education in 2007. She spent four years in general private practice in central Ohio before taking a full time position as Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University in 2009. Rachel has served the Columbus component as President, Vice President, and CE Chair; and as a member of ODHA Member Services Committee. In 2009 Rachel was awarded the ADHA Esther Wilkins Hu-Friedy Future Leader Award. She enjoys working with students and is the co-advisor for the Student Chapter of ADHA at The Ohio State University.

Treasurer

BARB RINGLE graduated with an Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from The Ohio State University. She received a Bachelors of Science in Allied Health from Baldwin Wallace College and a Masters in Education from Cleveland State University. Barb worked in private practice as a clinical dental hygienist for 10 years and has been a full-time dental hygiene faculty member at Cuyahoga Community College since 1982. Barb has been active in the Cleveland component as President, Trustee, and SADHA advisor.

Speaker of the House

JOYCE BEATHARD-LIND is a 1979 graduate of Sinclair Community College with an associate degree in Applied Science. In 2004, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Ohio Dominican University. Joyce has been a member of ODHA for thirty years, serving the Mad River Valley Component as Trustee for more than half of these years. At ODHA’s state level, she has served as Bylaws Committee Chair since 1990. In addition, she has served on the Finance Committee, Annual Session Planning Committee, as O-HY-PAC Director and ODHA Table Clinic Judge. Joyce has worked in every phase of dentistry, but is most proud of her last fourteen years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Dental Clinic, where she has treated children with behavioral, medical, and physical challenges. Joyce also shares her time, annually, with Teddy Bear Zoofari, Special Olympics Special Smiles, and Gahanna’s Health Fair. Joyce lives with her husband, James, and has two daughters.
