ODHA, in accordance with our mission statement, encourages all registered dental hygienists practicing in Ohio to qualify and apply for an Oral Health Access Supervision Program (OHASP) permit. To assist you in this process, we have posted the following "toolkit" slide show. This document highlights the nuances of the program and what it takes to qualify to become a provider who will safely provide quality preventive oral health care and education to citizens of Ohio who are at high risk. This is one more step we can all take to improve access to preventive dental services, which is the first step in eliminating the crisis our state currently faces in providing access to treatment for dental disease.
With your help, our association will continue to work to eliminate barriers to preventive dental services provided by highly qualified, licensed, registered dental hygienists. In the meantime: let's work together to innovate ways to bring dental hygiene care to people who need and want it, now through participation in the OHASP program!
