Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene


The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position for the Dental Hygiene Department. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees, with an enrollment of approximately 5,100 students. UC Blue Ash Dental Hygiene is a selective admissions program with approximately 40 students per class.   


Faculty responsibilities include instruction in clinical (performing dental hygiene duties), lab, and classroom settings. Courses to be taught may include Clinic Practicum I and II and would have the responsibilities of managing second year clinic.  Other responsibilities associated with this position will include professional/scholarly activities related to the profession, as well as department, college, university, and community service. Which could include professional membership/leadership in the Dental Hygiene Association, professional presentations on pedagogy and or dentistry, and publications in professional journals. 


Minimum Qualifications: This position requires all of the following prior to the effective date of the appointment: a Master’s Degree in dental hygiene or health related field; an Ohio Dental Hygiene License or eligibility for an Ohio Dental Hygienist license as defined by the Ohio State Dental Board http://dental.ohio.gov/Licensure/Dental-Hygienist#62388-dental-hygienist; and an Ohio local anesthesia certificate or eligibility for an Ohio local anesthesia certificate. Curriculum Vitae must document at least one academic year of teaching experience in a dental hygiene program. Teaching experience should include teaching in a clinical or didactic setting. Candidates must also have two years of clinical practice experience as a dental hygienist.
